The paintings of Joseph Wright,
Dovedales famous stepping stones, local towns & villages of Matlock
Bakewell, Cromford and Ashbourne, all located within a short drive from the site.

Lose yourself, indulge yourself and then rediscover yourself with a few days of ‘art under canvas’
Do something you have always wanted to do… give it a try… honestly, we don’t bite! and can assure you of a warm friendly welcome.
This will be a relaxed ‘chilled out’ experience.
Friendliness assured, no pressure, suitable for absolute beginners, intermediate, or experienced, this has something to offer all levels.
Booking can be from 1 to 4 days
We have a full but relaxing program planned on the Peak District Art Trail
Dates: march 23rd, 24th, 25th 26th and continuing each week thereafter
Group size: 4 to 6 persons
Cost: from £40 per day [art trail]
Camping: from £5 per person per day
Caravans: from £22 per night
Arrive from 10am -1 pm
Set up camp
Afternoon art session starts with ‘meet n greet’ from 1-3pm
3pm -5.50pm on site art with time for some ‘no pressure’ sketching or painting,
End of day,
Will be Followed by an optional evening ‘get together’

Meet and travel to our 2nd Location, the stunning Lumsdale Mill near Matlock.
Morning session: choose your spot and enjoy this beautiful site, with pond, waterfalls and old ruined mill buildings
1.30-2.30pm packed lunch and group feedback and support
Afternoon session: again, continue developing work from the morning, or move on to a different scene.
Evening: [optional] a trip out, camp fire, local pub or travel to Derbyshire pub with live music.
In the morning meet and travel to our first beautiful location. The stepping stones, Ravine, and caves at Dovedale

Morning session: choose your view or subject
packed lunch: bring your own picnic or pre-order packed lunch from Jules at the office
Afternoon session: option to stay in your chosen spot to develop work, or take a short walk along the river Dove to Milldale, a beautiful Village for sketching, with refreshments available from Polly’s Café

Morning meet, On site Art
11.30 am visit to Derby Art gallery focus on the great Joseph Wright followed by sketching in the museum
Artists welcome to disperse and draw in any preferred area of the gallery.
2.30pm group meet back on site to exhibit work and celebrate our achievements, a fun vote will be held to award a prize to the artist who has progressed the most over the trail
